Interface Settings
Color Scheme
Choose how Flight Deck renders light and dark UI.
- System uses your device appearance setting
- Light forces a light interface
- Dark forces a dark interface
Tip: If you fly at night, Dark usually reduces glare.
Reduce Animations
Limits motion effects and transitions across the interface.
Use this when:
- you prefer a calmer UI
- you are screen recording and want less visual noise
- you are on an older device and want the smoothest feel
Auto Select Deck (Flight Deck ONE)
Automatically switches Deck when you change aircraft.
How it behaves:
- It only auto switches if there is exactly one compatible Deck for the current aircraft
- If multiple Decks match, it does not guess, you stay in control
Auto Select Unit (Flight Deck FMS)
Same idea as above, but for Units instead of Decks.
Streaming Mode
Highlights interactions on knobs, buttons, selectors, and sliders to make them easier to see on camera.
Use this when:
- you are streaming or recording tutorials
- you want viewers to clearly see what you are touching
Note: This is a presentation aid, it does not change how controls work, it just makes gestures more visible.
Simulator Settings
Performance
Minimum Ideal FPS
This setting is purely informational. It does not change simulator performance, data rate, or system behavior.
It defines how the FPS indicator in the toolbar is color coded, so you can quickly understand how healthy your simulator performance is at a glance.
How it works
- Below 20 FPS
The indicator is always red. This means performance is critically low. - Between 20 FPS and your selected value
The indicator is yellow. Performance is acceptable but not ideal. - At or above your selected value
The indicator turns green. Performance is considered good.
What this is for
This setting lets you decide what “good performance” means for your setup. A heavy airliner over dense scenery may never reach 50 FPS, while a light GA aircraft easily can.
Typical values
- Heavy aircraft or complex scenery: 25 to 30 FPS
- General aviation or mid range setups: 30 to 40 FPS
- High end systems: 40 to 50 FPS
Tip
Set this to a value that reflects what you personally consider smooth. The colors are a visual reference, not a warning system.
Data Processing Rate
This controls how frequently Flight Deck processes simulator data and refreshes the UI.
Faster rates feel more responsive but use more energy. Slower rates reduce load and are better for battery life or long flights.
Recommended usage
- Fast for short sessions and maximum responsiveness
- Balanced for everyday use
- Conservative for older devices, battery use, or maximum stability
