Foxtrot 1 is a focused update: the Scratchpad arrives on iPad in Flight Deck FMS, G1000 coverage grows with four new Garmin GCU keyboard units, and a round of under-the-hood fixes rounds it out.

Scratchpad

The Scratchpad has been one of the most-used tools in Flight Deck ONE since its introduction, and with Foxtrot 1 it comes to iPad in Flight Deck FMS — where it fits naturally alongside real-world FMS workflows.

Copying a complex ATC clearance, jotting a route amendment mid-flight, or writing down an approach briefing before you need it: the Scratchpad gives you a dedicated place to do all of that without leaving the app or reaching for a physical notepad. It ships with a set of aviation-specific templates so you’re not starting from a blank canvas, and it supports both Apple Pencil and touch drawing so it adapts to how you prefer to work.

This is an iPad only feature.

New Garmin GCU Units

GCU units are the keyboard and cursor entry devices in Garmin G1000 glass cockpit installations — the physical interface pilots use for waypoint entry, airway selection, frequency tuning, and flight plan editing. Foxtrot 1 adds the GCU-476, GCU-477, GCU-478, and GCU-479, completing coverage across the G1000 unit family.

With the right unit in the app, data entry follows the exact layout you’d use in the simulator or the real aircraft. No mental remapping — just the workflow you already know, on your iPad.

You need Flight Deck FMS PRO to unlock the rotary controls.
