Streaming Mode is a feature designed for content creators — if you stream, record, or share your simulator sessions, it makes every interaction on the panel clearly visible to your audience.
When enabled, the app overlays real-time visual feedback on top of all interactive controls: whenever you touch and move a knob, press a button, drag a slider, or adjust a selector, a glow effect highlights the control and a touch indicator follows your finger across the screen.
Enabling Streaming Mode
Streaming Mode is a Premium feature.
Open Settings → Interface → Advanced and enable the Streaming Mode toggle.
Once enabled, all interactive controls on your panels will respond with visual feedback during interactions.
What Gets Highlighted
Every interactive control type produces feedback tailored to its interaction style:
Rotary Knobs — when you rotate a knob, a layered glow radiates outward from the knob surface. The inner knob and outer knob each light up independently so viewers can clearly see which ring is being adjusted. For pull interactions (short hold before rotating), the glow shifts to a cooler blue tone to visually distinguish the gesture.
Buttons — a touch indicator appears at the point of contact when you press a button, and fades out with a ripple expansion when you release.
Sliders — a horizontal glow follows the drag direction, emphasising left-right movement.
Selectors — similar to sliders, a glow highlights the control during swipe interactions.
Touch Pointer
In addition to the per-control glow effects, Streaming Mode overlays a semi-transparent circle that tracks your finger in real time across the entire panel. This makes it immediately obvious to viewers where on screen you are touching, even when the panel is zoomed in or the controls are small.
The pointer animates differently depending on the type of gesture:
- Tap / push / drag end — the pointer ripples outward and fades, like a drop of water.
- Pull (short hold) — the pointer snaps to a larger size then implodes inward, giving a visual “pull” sensation.
Pairing With Knob Color Highlight
For maximum visibility on rotary knobs, consider also enabling Highlight Selected Knob in Settings → Gestures → Appearance. This adds a solid color ring around the active knob during interaction — separate from the Streaming Mode glow — and works with both single and dual-ring knobs. You can choose a custom color for both the inner and outer knob rings independently.
Used together, Streaming Mode and Knob Color Highlight give your audience the clearest possible view of every cockpit interaction.
Tips for Best Results
- Use a dark color scheme (Settings → Interface → General → Color Scheme → Dark) to make the accent-colored glows stand out more against the panel background.
- The glow color follows your app’s accent color. If you want a specific look, check if your device accent color can be adjusted in iOS Settings.
- Streaming Mode has no impact on simulator performance — the effects are rendered at 60fps using hardware-accelerated layers and do not interfere with the X-Plane data connection.
